About the role
This wind resource analyst position will closely collaborate with APAC Engineering team, in coordination with the Head of Engineering APAC (located in Bangkok) for the projects in APAC.

The position will be based in our office in Bangkok, Thailand and required to travel upcountry and outside Thailand for project related works and training/workshops.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implementation of wind resource measurement campaigns
  • Collaborate, as technical specialist in your field, within the engineering teams assigned, across projects in APAC regions
  • Establish the most appropriate technical solutions for the WTG layout design of the projects assigned, working closely and in coordination with the Project Engineer.
  • Manage GIS and oversee surveying activities to maintain a detailed and accurate data base of land use boundaries and exclusions.
  • Create and optimize of WTG layouts, both indicative and detailed, tailored to suit the stage of the development.
  • Produce energy yield estimates, including assessments to guide investment decisions (i.e.: energy losses, uncertainties).
  • Manage technical due diligence to support M&A activities;
  • Prepare project documentation for procurement programs, PPA applications and financial close.
  • Site visits in APAC to confirm technical assumptions and gather data.
  • Ensure project compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage third party contractors and consultants when required.
  • Involve in public hearings and environmental and social assessment activities where necessary.
  • Maintain the overall project schedule through ensuring timely deliverables within budget.
  • Report progress to management and tracking key risks/issues. Maintaining a project technical execution plan.
  • Able to travel upcountry and outside Thailand for project related works and training/workshops.
  • Closely collaborate with APAC Engineering team, in coordination with the Head of Engineering APAC (located in Bangkok).

What You Bring

  • Engineering graduate with at least a bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering/scientific fields from an accredited and reputable University. Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role essential (On-Shore Wind); experience in Off-Shore will be an advantage.
  • Experience in implementing and managing onshore wind measurement campaigns is required
  • Attention to detail is a must, able to demonstrate sound engineering judgement.
  • Must be fluent in English (both oral and written) and Asian language skills an advantage
  • Proficiency in CAD and/or GIS design tools is required
  • Proficiency in Windfarmer / Windpro / Openwind or similar industry standard design tools is required
  • Experience in programming with Matlab, Python or C++, linear modelization and computational fluid dynamics is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal, prioritizing, and time management skills
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and challenging environment alongside people with different backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across APAC to facilitate project needs
