Greece is phasing out coal-powered electricity production and targeting for a very fast energy transition. BayWa r.e. Projects Greece IKE is in the process of building a significant portfolio of renewable energy projects with a focus on solar and wind energy to support the energy transition in Greece. It is also bringing innovative renewable energy approaches such as hybrids, energy storage, offshore wind, agriPV and floating PV to the market to address some of its key challenges. BayWa r.e. Projects Greece IKE is working closely with different BayWa r.e. renewable energy Group entities to expand its offering in operations management and plant maintenance and to evaluate the market potential for wholesale photovoltaic components and renewable energy solutions for corporations.

About the role

BayWa r.e., an international renewable energy developer, have established a portfolio of solar and onshore wind projects in Greece, with a local office established in Athens.  We are now seeking a Project Developer/ Project Manager (m/f/d)  to focus on delivery of the existing onshore wind portfolio whilst providing support as required to further grow the portfolio.
 

What You Will Do

  • You will manage existing onshore wind development projects under development
  • You will liaise with and provide oversight of development partners
  • You will control project expenditure against budget and drive development schedule
  • You will provide technical support and procure and manage additional internal and external technical resource/ services as and when required
  • You will manage wind resource measurement and wind yield campaign
  • You will liaise with BayWa local grid manager to determine the solution and manage the necessary grid connection permits and agreements.
  • You will liaise with key stakeholders, including local authorities and communities
  • You will support assessment of new onshore wind development opportunities and provide regular internal reporting

Your Profile

  • University degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in wind project development, preferably in an international matrix report organization
  • Strong understanding of the development process for wind projects, including constraints analysis, grid connection and permitting processes. Construction experience is a plus
  • Wind resource assessment / Conceptual layout experience and good understanding of wind turbine suppliers and wind turbine models
  • Excellent project management skills and team player
  • Proficient with MS Office, GIS is a plus
  • Excellent communication with demonstrated ability to negotiate a strong technical position for the company with relevant stakeholders
  • Fluent in business English and Greek
