About the role
The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of allocated solar project(s). This will cover the commercial and technical delivery of the asset, normally from development consent, through contracting, into construction and through to commercial operations.
Ideally the Project Manager is based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow with the solar project team.  However, home based working is potentially an option.  The solar project team consists of three project managers and is set to grow over the coming years.  The solar project manager is supported by internal and external team members covering finance, legal, engineering, planning and development.
The role is primarily office based but the Project Manager will be required to travel to solar projects at various phases of the development.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the financial tracking of projects against budget, liaising and reporting to Head of Projects
  • Participation in overall strategic direction and planning for BayWa r.e’s activities in both the UK and Irish markets
  • Support process for enhancing best practice methods, valuation processes, knowledge management, internal tools & templates.
  • Examination and evaluation of projects in all project phases as well as new project partners
  • Implementation of all approval and planning steps to attain construction readiness of PV-Plants
  • Coordination of the construction planning, material procurement, awarding of construction contracts and the constructional implementation
  • Securing the on-time and on-budget implementation of the plant construction as well as supporting the sales process
  • Management of the project team (control of internal and external stakeholders)
  • Consideration of processes and standards with other departments, especially EPC and Engineering

What You Bring

  • Business, technical, or legal university degree
  • Qualified professional experience in project management, ideally in the solar sector (minimum 3 years)
  • High degree of self-responsibility, entrepreneurial understanding, and flexibility
  • Good negotiation management, coupled with high sensitivity to different mentalities and practices in an international business environment
  • Driven and able to take initiative, utilising time efficiently to meet deadlines effectively
  • Logical thinker and clear communicator, with solid interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent spoken and written business English
  • Strong IT skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Right to work in the UK
