Site Supervisor Cum Chargeman

About the role

The role requires a site supervisor who would be responsible for all site matters and oversees the performance and work of the O&M contractor and sub-contractors. The site supervisor must also meet at least a B0 33kV chargeman certification requirement stipulated in the Electricity Regulations 1994, being proficient in handling HV electrical equipment.

This position must be able to be relocate to Sandakan, Sabah (Malaysia).

What You Will Do

1. Responsible for carrying out all duties of a chargeman and ensure the compliance of all Operator’s obligations as required under the Renewable Energy and Electricity Acts and Regulations by Suruhanjaya Tenaga. Also, ensuring compliance to the requirements of local authorities and utilities.
2. Act as a competent person to lead, conduct and control the work / operation of electrical installations.
a. Manage day-to-day activities and planning with contractors.
b. Ensure contractors meet project timelines and HSE guidelines.
c. Contractor performance evaluation.
d. Assist with warranty and insurance claims.
3.Reporting and Monitoring.
a. Provide daily and monthly reports to the asset management team.
b. Responsible for uploading incidents, updates and activities in relation to the project into ticketing system in timely manner.
c. Track spare parts and consumables inventory.
d. Monitor monthly environmental and social performance metrics
e. Conduct monthly meter reading with off taker
4. Plan, organize and implement a comprehensive program (including both corrective and preventive activities) to ensure smooth operation of all electrical installations. Coordination with Engineer would be required.
5. Perform routine inspections and checks on all electrical / electronic systems and plant equipment, as well as ensuring proper record and documentation on the status of these systems / equipment in a Chargeman daily log book. Timely reports of these inspections and checks are to be provided to the Engineer.
a. Provide update and site operations reports to Asset Manager
6. To be responsible in installing, repairing, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on all electrical / electronic systems and plant equipment.
7. Assist Engineer to investigate, assess & verify damage and provide breakdown reports on electrical equipment, cables, etc.
8. Supervise and monitor the work of the site technicians and contractors as directed by the engineer.
a. Implement and oversee quality control processes.
b. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure all requirements are met.
9. Develop and train the O&M team with the best practice standards in the operations and maintenance of the PV plant.
10. Perform stakeholder management with local authorities and utilities such as SESB, EC and other regulatory bodies.
11. To cooperate and coordinate with the visiting competent electrical engineer in ensuring the plant is compliant to the Renewable Energy and Electricity Acts and Regulations by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
12. Carry out switching work and commencing work and Switch ON and Switch OFF the electrical equipment, system and machinery as required to be carried out by competent persons as per described in the Electricity Supply Act 1990and the Electricity Regulations 1994.
13. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management:
a. Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
b. Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship among all project stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and responsible resource management.

What You Bring

Educational/Professional Qualification:
- Diploma in an Engineering or equivalent fi eld.
- Certificate of the competency for High Voltage Restriction (at least B0-33KV) issued by the Energy Commission. Preferably B4-33KV. PW4 certificate would be an added bonus.

- CIDB green card registration.
- Computer proficiency Microsoft Office

Relevant Experience
- Minimum six (6) years working experience in a similar fi eld
