About the role
Due to our dynamic growth, we are currently looking for a Senior Wind Turbine Engineer (m/f/d) to join an established and experienced global Wind Turbine Procurement Team.
The position is located in one of our office locations in Europe but working remotely would be an option for a suitable candidate with a demonstrable track record.

What You Will Do
- You will oversee the technical development of wind turbine technology, including identifying and evaluating new turbine models and technologies.
- You will provide guidance to our local teams during site assessment, selection of turbine type, contract negotiations with suppliers (technical scope) and construction.
- You will advise on technical elements of turbine supply agreements including warranties and operation and maintenance arrangements.
- You will accompany the technical wind turbine related aspects during the handover of our projects to investor or to our internal IPP division.
- You will maintain relationships with key technology suppliers, ensuring technical performance requirements are met.
- You will lead the pre-qualification of new suppliers.
- You will represent the company in technical forums and engage with key stakeholders, including industry associations, government agencies, and academic institutions.
- You will be responsible for the continuous performance assessment of wind turbines, working closely with the technical specialists in our local teams.
- You will oversee the further development of technical specifications and standards of our wind turbines suppliers.
- You will monitor and analyze industry trends and new technologies.
- You will lead the development of lessons learned and best practices for wind turbine technology, sharing knowledge and expertise with the local teams within the organization.
Your Profile
- A degree in engineering. A master’s degree in mechanical, aeronautical, or renewable engineering or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in wind turbine technology, with experience in the development and delivery of wind energy projects.
- Proven track record of working in a matrix organization
- Experience in wind turbine performance analysis and layout optimization.
- Strong knowledge of wind turbine technology and the wind energy industry, including industry standards and regulations.
- GWO training and experience in climbing wind turbines will be considered favorably.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
