Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Seoul and are currently looking for a Senior Wind Project Developer:



  • Monitor and assess renewable energy policy in South Korea, determining priority strategic objectives for the business;

  • Gather market intelligence through maintaining a network of industry contacts (Genco’s, OEM’s, consultants, investors, banks, developers ect.);

  • Maintain an up to date development cycle gaant chart and checklist of permits/licenses required by renewable energy projects in South Korea (noting differences between regions);

  • Attend industry events and raise BayWa brand awareness in the market;

  • Participate in team and company meetings, discussions and workshops. Keep the management informed on project status (reporting regularly) and business challenges and contribute to the team, providing support where required;

 Green fielding / site searching

  • Support with potential new site identification and selection, advising on and sourcing local data/information to guide the technical assessments;

  • Identification of suitable land for wind energy development and ownership of the relationship with the landowners;

  • Work with brokers, consultants, service providers and EPC contractors to identify potential new locations with high potential for development;

  • Lead on regional marketing/advertising to notify landowners and developers that BayWa can support proposed projects from inception;

  • Identify and follow up on other potential routes to identify developable new opportunities;


  • Identification of proposed wind projects and potential developer partnerships in South Korea;

  • Assessment of new project investment opportunities, working with Bangkok management and support functions on technical and commercial appraisals;

  • Managing relationships with project stakeholders and following up as required, understanding potential partner requirements and drafting/agreeing key terms of partnership agreements;

  • Monitoring key economic drivers for each opportunity, managing internal resources to prepare and submit offers;

  • Site visits to confirm commercial points and technical assumptions and gather data;

  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation to report project status to management;

      Project Management

  • Using good industry practice tools and process (including appropriate software) to support the preliminary design and investigation of wind opportunities;

  • Managing Global Information System (GIS) software oversight of project opportunities and/or overseeing surveying activities to maintain a detailed and accurate data base of land use boundaries and exclusions for projects and opportunities;

  • Carry out the requisite financial modelling to assess and appraise investment opportunities;

  • Manage due diligence of new opportunities, both external and internal, to support project investment and acquisition activities. Managing third party contractors and consultants;

  • Ensuring project compliance with local regulations and company policy; 

  • Maintaining the overall project schedule through ensuring timely deliverables within budget;

  • Reporting progress to management and tracking key risks/issues. Maintaining a project technical execution plan;

  • Travel in country for business as required.


  • An experience energy professional with at least 10+ years commercial experience, with a minimum of 5 years track record of hands on developing wind projects in the South Korea;

  • Third level degree, ideally in an engineering, science or mathematical field, but all qualifications and experience considered on merit;

  • Strong understanding of permitting regulation and requirements and the development process in South Korea;

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully working with local government departments and national licensing bodies;

  • Experience with public consultation and land compensation process is desirable;

  • Good negotiation & relationship building skills, able to build and maintain rapport internally and externally;

  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment, and ability to work with international colleagues;

  • Fluent in both Korean and English with the ability to clearly express complex issues in both languages;

  • A problem solver, able to demonstrate abilities to take on multiple simultaneous issues;

  • Flexible in approach and time, willing to travel when required and work out of hours when necessary (position is based in BayWa Seoul office, but travel is part of the job);


  • Annual salary range KRW 75,000,000 – KRW 100,000,000 depending on experience and abilities
