BayWa r.e. España S.L.U. offers technical and commercial management services of wind and solar farms and develops turnkey self-consumption systems for commercial and industrial customers. BayWa r.e. España is one of the most important service providers in the country, servicing several renewable energy plants in the Iberian Peninsula and the Spanish Islands.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Madrid and are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager (m/f/d). The position will play a key role in the success of BayWa r.e. in the Iberian countries (Spain and Portugal). 

Your tasks

  • Initiate and analyze new projects (business cases), present them to company management and develop them to become part of the company's project portfolio
  • Be responsible for project and consultancy operations and evaluate, develop and build renewable energy projects and hand over commercially profitable turnkey assets to our commercial and industrial customers
  • Coordinate all related tasks from project development and construction to financial close and sale of the plants
  • Continuously implement and evaluate ongoing business cases
  • Initiate and develop new business models as the energy sector is undergoing an exciting transformation
  • Design project management reporting structures and escalation processes tailored to each project, establish information that enables effective decision-making
  • Create structures to plan, monitor, and document progress, project plans, status and decision reports
  • Manage relationships with landowners, neighbors and politicians since transition of the projects from the development team

Your profile

  • You have a civil engineering degree in construction, electrical or mechanical engineering, industrial economics or a similar educational background
  • You have at least 5 years of project management experience in the solar industry
  • You have a good understanding of and are used to working with financial models for solar projects
  • You have knowledge of commercializing business models, expanding existing models and launching new opportunities
  • You have a strong commercial spirit and good technical skills. You have good knowledge of managing budgets and resources based on project plans
  • You have solid experience in evaluating and managing internal employees, external advisors and entrepreneurs in a wide range of technical, financial and commercial matters
  • Experience in project acquisition / sales of solar power projects or other major infrastructure projects is a plus
  • You speak and write Spanish and English fluently (Portuguese is a plus)
  • You have worked in a multicultural and international environment
  • You are technically and digitally inclined
