BayWa r.e. Projects Australia provides an extensive range of services from project development and implementation to finance and the operation of large-scale solar and wind farms in Australia. About the role

If yes, BayWa r.e. Australia is looking for a Senior Project Manager to play a key role supporting the late stage development, project management and construction of onshore wind, solar and BESS projects across the country.  

What You Will Do

  • Full project management for onshore wind projects across Australia from late-stage development through to commercial operation.
  • Develop comprehensive project budgets and maintain accurate cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive project risk registers and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Evaluate project requirements ensuring the adequate provision of resourcing.
  • Perform technical and commercial due diligence on projects prior to execution commencement including reviewing site conditions and understanding site specific challenges.
  • Work with engineering and development teams to transition projects from development through to execution.
  • Work with corporate finance to undertake commercial due diligence, project finance, and project sales.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and HS&E on a regular basis to management, clients, and lenders.
  • Support development of wind projects together with development managers.
  • Tender, negotiate, award, and administer contracts for Balance of Plant, Wind Turbine Supply, Operation & Maintenance, and other consultancy agreements or subcontractors.
  • Produce and maintain master project schedules across all project activities including; development, tender, grid, finance, construction, commissioning, and sales.
  • Manage internal project team along with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
 

What You Bring

  • · Experience executing large utility scale wind projects either in Australia or abroad from late-stage development through to commercial operations.
    · Prior involvement in the project finance process, particularly achieving financial close prior to issuing notice to proceed for a utility scale renewables project.
    · Handling split contract projects and a thorough understanding scope delineation risk is seen as a plus.
    · A strong understanding of HSE risks and eagerness to implement related policies to ensure a safe work site.
    · Ability to manage project staff, sub-contractors, and stakeholders and handle conflict resolution.
    · Ability to prioritise multiple project workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
    · Strong skills in project scheduling, identifying dependances, and critical path analysis.
    · Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
