We are recruiting a Regional Head of Wind Development for the Asian region

We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region.
You will oversee all operational and strategic aspects to ensure the development of our wind activities within the Asian region in order to reach our ambitious growth targets.
The position will be based in the APAC region, ideally in Korea.

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Responsible for the further development of BayWa r.e. Wind Projects’ presence in Asia, actively identifying and promoting investment opportunities for BayWa r.e. in onshore and offshore wind projects segments.

  • Establish necessary project strategies, market survey and competitive analysis to define attractive new project opportunities.

  • Initiate and manage the acquisition, greenfield development, and implementation of new wind projects throughout Asia

  • Develop and lead a portfolio of initiatives and programs that ensure BayWa r.e long-term competitiveness.

  • Establish budgets, business plans and investment approval request papers, management reports and Board briefings on all ongoing and planned business activities

  • Support the development of appropriate standards and processes with a regional outlook and cross-technology/collaboration approach

  • Lead our wind teams based across the Asian region to deliver high performance outcomes

  • Build strong relationships with key industry stakeholders

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • Proven experience in the field of wind farm development and implementation of renewable energy generation projects in Asia

  • Proven leadership in managing a multi-skilled, international and multi-location team with the ability to understand and support other team members´ strengths and abilities to empower them to drive the wind development activities in their respective markets

  • Stakeholder management

  • High flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions, ability to respond to disruptive environments, seeing disruptive events as an opportunity rather than a threat to re-create the business

  • Fluency in English, a second Asian language would be an advantage

Is this role the right fit for you?

  • Do you have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business?

  • Do you have more than 10 years’ experience in the wind sector in a strategical position, ideally in the APAC region?

  • Are you willing to travel occasionally and capable to travel to sites which may involve walking, and/or, driving off road across sites etc?
