About the role

In your role as a QHSE Technician in Spain, you’ll be a part of our Operations Team delivering QHSE advice and support. Your main focus will be acting as a QHSE specialist according to Spanish legal requirements working with our operational teams on QHSE matters, including conducting site visits & inspections, supporting maintenance activities, developing QHSE processes and documents, as well as conducting trainings and coaching.
 

What You Will Do

  • Advise and support the provision of health, safety and environmental-related assistance for our business at operation stage including interfacing with authorities.
  • Proactively support and advise staff as well as management in meeting their HSE responsibility and the development and promotion of an excellent HSE culture.
  • Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Spanish QHSE Management System.
  • Ensure legal HSE requirements are identified and considered, and achieving compliance is supported and evaluated on a regular basis.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analyses in close collaboration with Operation structure. Incident and accident investigation.
  • Provide safety related trainings and courses based on focus analyses in order to qualify and skill relevant staff in terms of health, safety or environmental topics.
  • Conduct and improve HSE walks and inspections pursuant to Spanish HSE legislation as well as BayWa r.e. governance requirements to check and ensure conformity with the law/ BayWa r.e. requirements.
  • Conduct, review and support risk and hazard assessments and derive actions.
  • Define technical specifications in relation whit HSE matters.

What You Bring

  • Successfully completed a technical degree.
  • In possession of a valid qualification in occupational Health and Safety according the Spanish legislation (Técnico Superior de Prevención de riesgos laborales)
  • An additional certification in environmental is added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Safety preferably in the area of energy.
  • Good working knowledge of Spanish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation Experience in implementing an HSE Management System.
  • Very good command of written and spoken Spanish and English.
  • Pronounced team spirit and good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Availability to travel.
  • B1 driving licence.
