BayWa r.e. renewable energy Group is responsible for activities in the field of renewable energy. We develop, realise, advise on and provide support for projects around the world in the areas of
solar, wind and bioenergy. In addition, we offer operations management and plant maintenance as well as wholesale photovoltaic components, energy trading and renewable energy solutions for corporations.

Greece is phasing out coal-powered electricity production and targeting for a very fast energy transition. BayWa r.e. Group is in the process of building a significant portfolio of renewable energy projects to support the energy transition in Greece.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Athens and are currently looking for a Project Developer Solar Power Plants.

Your tasks

  • Develop and acquire project opportunities; identify, analyse, and manage joint ventures in Greece with the support of our transactional and technical specialists based elsewhere
  • Originate and attend bilaterial meetings, industry conferences and events to further develop our network within Greece and our understanding of market developments, opportunities and risks
  • Together with a team of analysts and other project team members, assist internal / external specialists in evaluating opportunities and developing the business case for investment
  • Support defining strategic options for growth within Greece and aligning with the Solar Projects business where possible

Your profile

  • Business, technical or legal university degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience in project management, ideally in the photovoltaic sector working in project origination & development and project acquisition (M&A)
  • Involvement in and understanding of the broad commercial analysis and focused decision-making necessary for investing in, realizing and selling PV projects
  • Sound business judgement and ability to recognize and address opportunities and risks in a self-responsible and entrepreneurial way
  • Good negotiation management, coupled with high sensitivity to different mentalities and practices in an international business environment
  • Technically and digitally inclined with a high degree of flexibility
  • High willingness to travel
  • Fluent spoken and written Greek and business English; knowledge of German is a plus
