BayWa r.e. Japan KK is a wholly owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH. We are actively pursuing and developing photovoltaic projects in Japan. Our experienced team is engaging in site acquisition, land survey, development, acquiring permits, communication with authorities and communities, EPC and O&M.

About the role
We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region.
For accelerating Wind energy in Japan, we search the right person of this position.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and prioritize suitable sites for wind energy development.
  • Support or lead negotiations with landowners, real estate agencies, local municipalities, authorities and other project partners regarding land-use agreements and more, depending on seniority.
  • Represent our organization to project stakeholders and coordinate stakeholder engagement events.
  • Support, coordinate and manage internal resources across legal, commercial, financing, engineering, procurement, grid and project management throughout the full development process.
  • Technical and economical responsibility of the assigned projects during their development phase.
  • Secure all regulatory approvals (environmental, interconnection and other) necessary to progress projects to the execution phase.
  • Stay engaged in regulatory and technical market development for onshore wind.
  • Occasional travel to different regions of Japan to carry out tasks locally.

What You Bring

  • Successfully completed degree in a technical or planning subject (geography, renewable energies, engineering or similar).
  • More than 3 years of professional experience in the development and realization of wind farms or battery storage projects, ground-mounted photovoltaic systems and in the acquisition of project areas.
  • Experience with geographic information system software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Experience in the planning and approval of renewable energy projects, with experience in environmental impact assessments and/or interconnection process with utilities.
  • Good communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good negotiation skills, coupled with a high level of sensitivity for different mentalities and customs in an international business environment.
  • High degree of personal responsibility, entrepreneurial spirit, and flexibility.
  • Business management thinking and basic legal understanding.
  • High willingness to travel within Japan.
