Due to growth, we are expanding our team in Milton Keynes and are currently looking for a Operations Manager - Solar:

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all contractual obligations from the O&M contracts for several commercial PV portfolios are fulfilled.
  • Responsible for the line management of a team consisting of three account managers, and their respective teams (senior and junior level).
  • Responsible for day-to-day discussion, negotiations and operational issues with clients, subcontractors and other third parties.
  • Support the Directors, the Head of Asset Management, and the other senior managers in ensuring that the company operates in compliance with the BayWa r.e. operational guidelines (in particular, SHEQ) and that it delivers excellent service quality to its customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the profitable management of all solar PV contracts and develop initiatives for efficiency increases.
  • Responsible for the implementation of all required processes, tools, and systems, including the integration of new digital platforms.
  • Responsible for planning and resourcing of new team members.
  • Tailoring and ensuring effectiveness of onboarding and ongoing training processes for the Solar Project Management team.
  • Provide input on the operational scope of tenders and support in sales discussions with potential and existing clients.
  • Support the Head of Asset Management in recognising additional revenue within the existing Agreements, with existing Clients.
  • Ensure that the company strategy is followed and integrated within the operational team.

Your profile

  • Degree in a technical or commercial field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience, of which at least 2 years in the UK large scale solar industry.
  • Extensive experience of service contracts and the underlying technical, commercial, and legal provisions.
  • Excellent commercial insight for assessing key value drivers of projects.
  • Active listener that shows you understand and value others’ viewpoints.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written (presentations, reports, documents) and spoken
  • Proven negotiator and team player.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage a range of priorities.
  • Structured approach and methodical working style.
  • Able to remain composed and professional under pressure, keeping a positive outlook.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Able to suggest improvements to existing processes and implement new processes.
  • Confident communicator, with solid interpersonal skills allowing you to lead a large team, building and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers, other market players, further stake holders and international internal BayWa r.e. teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading projects and teams to successful results
