About the role
Operation and Maintenance (“O&M”) Coordinator based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. BayWa re is the responsible for the turnkey asset management solar rooftop projects in Vietnam (the “Project”). As part of the BayWa Asset Management team, the O&M Coordinator will be the point of contact for the power purchaser (“offtakers”) and responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance monitoring of the solar asset. The O&M Controller is expected to manage coordination with contractors local governmental authorities.

The position will be located in Ho Chi Minh City, with frequent travel to sites in Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ngai Province. 

What You Will Do

Coordination with contractors:
  • Manage day-to-day activities and planning with contractors.
  • Ensure contractors meet project timelines and HSE guidelines.
  • Calculation of performance metrics and liquidated damages as part of contractor performance evaluation.
  • Assist with warranty and insurance claims.
  • Provide update and site operations reports to Asset Manager.
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure all requirements are met.
Local Stakeholder Engagement and Site Support:
  • Represent company professionally to the offtakers (power purchaser) and local stakeholders.
  • First point of contact of company to the offtakers (power purchasers).
  • Support on coordination and administrative process (such as documents submission and coordination with offtaker, governmental authorities and advisors).
Reporting & Monitoring:
  • Provide daily and monthly reports to the asset management team.
  • Responsible for uploading incidents, updates and activities in relation to the project into ticketing system in timely manner.
  • Track spare parts and consumables inventory.
  • Monitor monthly environmental and social performance metrics.
  • Conduct monthly meter reading with offtaker.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management:
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship among all project stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and responsible resource management.

What You Bring

  • Vocational or technical education in a relevant field with a minimum 3 years as a foreman in solar installation.
  • Technical background in solar rooftop energy systems and/or solar farms.
  • Familiarity with various solar technologies, inverters, and monitoring systems.
  • Good track record in O&M with solar projects.
  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English.
  • Experience in quality control procedures for solar maintenance, operations, retrofit and installations.
  • Ability to manage contractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for effective documentation, data analysis, and presentation purposes.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travels in Vietnam.
  • Be available outside normal working hours for emergency incidents.
