Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our Offshore Wind Team and are currently looking for a Offshore Wind Energy Assessment and Metocean Conditions Specialist. This is a global position that can be located in one of our European offices in e.g. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, or the UK.

Your tasks

  • You are responsible for all offshore wind assessment and metocean investigation matters
  • You are responsible for running the Energy Yield studies, including assessment of Offshore Wind energy losses 
  • You provide offshore wind and metocean data for the Design Basis of Offshore Wind projects 
  • You provide support to request for proposals, assess offers and select preferred technical subcontractors for offshore wind measurement devices in compliance with the budget
  • You support the procurement, selection and manage any external contractors required to support parts of the Offshore Wind Energy and Metocean assessment scope
  • You manage the offshore weather modelling including data and software dedicated to assess the different stages of project execution
  • You are the technical Interface with the main stakeholders for the weather forecasting and weather monitoring equipment requirements
  • You support the contract negotiations with the selected subcontractors
  • You are responsible for monitoring and assessing the performance of meteorological installations
  • You define and optimize in coordination with the various disciplines the Offshore Wind plant WTG layout according to the objectives and requirements of the projects
  • You collect and provide Offshore Wind and Metocean inputs to the Business Model (DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX related to wind assessment, energy yield and metocean investigation) and to the engineering team with regards to the objectives of the projects

Your profile

  • You have a university degree in engineering, physics or mathematics or a similar educational background
  • Ideally, you have 5+ years of professional experience in development of offshore wind projects, wind resource and metocean assessment
  • You are proficient in programming with Matlab, Python or C++; knowledge in linear modelization and computational fluid dynamics is an advantage
  • You bring technical expertise into tender discussions and advise on financial aspects / due diligences of offshore wind projects
  • You have competence in validation of floating lidar campaigns against the requirements from Carbon Trust Offshore Wind Accelerator Roadmap
  • You are experienced in implementing and managing offshore wind and meteorological oceanic measurement campaigns
  • You are fluent in Business English, other languages like German, French or Spanish are a plus
  • You enjoy working in a multicultural environment, in a consortium or joint venture
