BayWa r.e. renewable energy Group is responsible for activities in the field of renewable energy. We develop, realise, advise on and provide support for projects around the world in the areas of solar, wind and bioenergy. In addition, we offer operations management and plant maintenance as well as wholesale photovoltaic components, energy trading and renewable energy solutions for corporations.

Greece is phasing out coal-powered electricity production and targeting for a very fast energy transition. BayWa r.e. Group is in the process of building a significant portfolio of renewable energy projects to support the energy transition in Greece.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our Legal team and are currently looking for a Legal Counsel (m/f/d) Renewable Energy. This position can either be located in Athens or Munich. Please send in your applications in English.

Your tasks

  • Providing comprehensive legal advice to the BayWa r.e. project team on the development and implementation of projects in the area of renewable energies, especially solar and wind projects for our Greek market
  • Drafting and negotiation of contracts for land securing, grid connection, acquisition, EPC, O&M and PPA
  • Procurement and review of permits and permissions
  • Legal support on project financing contracts
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating project sales contracts
  • Researching and advising on legal aspects of new and innovative technology approaches, such as energy storage, floating PV, Agri-PV
  • Procuring, managing, and reviewing legal advice provided by external law firms and managing legal budget
  • Managing all corporate and legal documentation and ensuring compliance with law and group policies as well as developing of best practices

Your profile

  • 4+ years experience as a Greek qualified lawyer
  • Project development and property experience preferred, transactional experience (international M&A / corporate, project financing) also valuable
  • Previous working experience in the renewable energy business either in a law firm or a comparable inhouse-position preferred
  • Highly capable in negotiations and contract drafting as well as some experience in resolving disputes
  • Skilled in sensibly identifying and mitigating risks, while balancing the same with commercial aspects
  • Self-motivated, multi-tasker, able to be a part of and to support interdisciplinary teams
  • Hands-on and able to see the broader strategic / commercial path, with a deep understanding of relevant transactions and documents
  • Business fluent in Greek and English
  • Open to the changes of digitization and implementing them in daily work
