About the role

Due to our dynamic growth, we are looking for Hydrogen Business and Project Development Manager (m/f/d) to drive our hydrogen activities globally. As part of our central hydrogen team, you will be responsible to identify and develop hydrogen business cases in cooperation with our local teams.
This position can be located at our company headquarters in Munich or one of our European offices (depending on the country).

What You Will Do

  • You will contribute to the implementation of the hydrogen business within the BayWa r.e. group by serving as internal knowledge hub and by providing guidance & tools for the hydrogen business development
  • You will analyze the hydrogen market development, potential hydrogen offtake options, the suitability of potential hydrogen production sites and the availability of subsidy programs to define techno-economic optimal hydrogen projects
  • You will drive the development of existing and identify new hydrogen project opportunities, develop the associated business cases, conduct feasibility studies and due diligences, and take care of the permitting and licensing
  • You will work on the development of partnership agreements
  • You will cultivate and extend our network of key stakeholders along the hydrogen value chain, approach potential customers and represent our business on trade fairs and conferences

Your Profile

  • Completed Masters' Degree in Economics, Business, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or comparable qualification
  • 5+ years professional experience in business and/or project development ( experience in the renewable energy, gas and/or chemistry sector is a plus)
  • Good understanding of the hydrogen generation process, the key stakeholders and market environment
  • Involvement in and understanding of the broad commercial and/or technical analysis and decision-making necessary for developing, realizing, and selling hydrogen projects
  • Sound business judgement and ability to recognize and address opportunities and risks in a self-responsible and entrepreneurial way
  • Ability to distil complex subjects and present them to broad audiences
  • Solid negotiation skills, coupled with high sensitivity to different mentalities and practices in an international business environment
  • You are technically and digitally inclined and display a high degree of flexibility and willingness to travel
  • Excellent English language skills. Knowledge of German or another language is a plus.
