We are recruiting a Head of Transactions APAC for our office in Bangkok, Thailand.

We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region.
Purpose:
To lead the Corporate Finance function for the Asia Pacific region from our regional hub in Bangkok
The Corporate Finance team leads transactions for the wind and solar Project’s business. 
Corporate Finance has the following key functions:
  • Project Sales,
  • External Financing,
  • M&A
  • Valuations
BayWa’s main business model is to sell projects once built and operational; it is our responsibility to run the project sales processes and maximize the returns for the business. 
We are also responsible for securing external project finance to fund the projects through development and construction. 
Finally, we are the team who own the business’ financial models and support the business development team in valuations and analysis for effective decision making. 


 

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Lead the APAC Corporate Finance team covering Australia, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.

  • Be part of the regional management team and a key link into HQ.  The role reports the Director of Corporate Finance in Munich, Germany. 

  • Manage cross functional reporting and be a center of excellence for the Corporate Finance central function.  Be the crucial person to provide commercial insights, strength in analysis and risk awareness to support good decision making in the Projects business. 

  • Lead project sale negotiations and transactions, providing recommendations to the Projects business as a professional financial adviser would. Have accountability for deal delivery.   

  • Secure, lead and manage team delivering external project finance solutions to the Project business.

  • Ensure strong funder and investor network to support the Project business with current market understanding and intel. 

  • Be the commercial lead to support the project development team on new investments, including financial evaluation, legal and tax structuring, investment committee documentation preparation and contract negotiation.

  • Run or support on M&A transactions in APAC covering corporate or project pipeline acquisitions. 

  • Manage the team responsible for financial modelling and project valuations.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • At least 10 years of transaction orientated professional experience.  Ideally this includes both M&A, structuring and project financing.  Experience in international advisory, investment bank, accountant or in-house M&A are required. 

  • Professional knowledge and ability to understand the complexity of a project business in the renewable energies field.  Good relevant experience to be able to grasp the risks and value drivers for development, construction and operational renewable assets. 

  • Excellence in conducting negotiations with outstanding communication skills.  Both customer-focused and able to work in an interdisciplinary team environment

  • Grounding in financial modelling.  Strong analytical background and good accounting knowledge.
