BayWa r.e. Projects Australia provides an extensive range of services from project development and implementation, to finance and the operation of large-scale solar and wind farms in Australia. Our experienced team, comprised of local and international staff, is there to take care of your project every step of the way.

About the role

This role will be responsible for managing the operation and profitability of the assigned physical assets of the Company and/or its customers. The Asset Manager will report to the assigned Line Manager within the Business Entity IPP and will represent the view of the Asset Owner of the Business Entity IPP (“dotted reporting line” concept, meaning the asset manager provides a clearly defined scope, reports regularly to IPP management. Personnel supervision i.e. salary, leave, etc. done by local legal entity manager). The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic, risk and compliance management. Other responsibilities are identifying and recommending asset optimization strategies to enhance the performance of the operations of the assigned assets, managing relationships with Company service providers and customers/investors, as well as other assigned duties. Please note that this is a 2-year contract role at this stage.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities
• Responsible for the operational overview of 2-3 IPP owned PV assets (110MW, 105 MW, 20MW) in Queensland and Victoria/Australia.
• Manage local service providers as well as internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
• Critical review and challenge technical and commercial performance of IPP assets.
• Responsible for monthly asset management reporting and annual budget planning.
• Engage with colleagues to understand and evaluate asset risks and opportunities.
• Manage financial and technical performance tracking of assets against budget and other KPIs.
• Contribute to enhancing best practice methods, valuation processes, knowledge management, internal tools & templates.
• Take ownership of discrete areas of business development work streams and support the wider team in achieving our goals.
• Ad-hoc analyses and research in various relevant markets.
• Participate in a pool of experts from different Business Units to interact and exchange about current and planned activities, best practices, cross functional analyses.
• Mentoring a small team.
• Organizing and implementing a business plan, the annual budget and the 3-year midterm plan that meets the objectives of the customer/investor.
• Monitoring and analyzing the key performance indicators of the asset portfolio and reporting to the customer/investor including the current and forecast performance of investment.
• Represent the company’s interest at the project level to assure maximum profitability and return on investment.
• Maintain thorough awareness of technical, commercial, and financial issues related to assigned projects.
• Strategic management of relevant contracts on asset portfolio level, including execution of tenders and negotiation.
• Optimizing all elements of the assets commensurate with the appropriate risk profile.
