About the role

Our development and construction activities are increasing over the coming months to meet the needs of our growing Onshore Wind, Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage portfolio and we are looking for individuals with the right blend of skills to join our team. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the electricity industry in Great Britain, particularly in relation to network connections from a technical, commercial, and regulatory standpoint. We are looking for individuals with experience of delivering grid connection packages – either on the distribution or the transmission network – to take on this responsibility across several projects. The role requires a proactive approach and an ability to work well within a diverse, professional, and skilled team. Team harmony and cohesion is essential to our way of working.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the successful delivery of the grid connection package for Onshore Wind, Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects through their lifecycle;
  • Support the development and construction teams with project design, procurement, feasibility assessments and in any other way relevant to grid connections;
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks, advise the business on an ongoing basis about existing and anticipated grid – related liabilities and costs.
  • Manage the delivery of works being undertaken by electrical and grid connection contractors;
  • Maintain ongoing communicating with the project teams;
  • Act as the company’s interface with network companies (DNOs, TOs and the SO), engage as required to achieve successful outcomes;
  • Deliver work to a high level of competency.
  • Adhere to the company’s SHEQ guidelines, IT policy and other requirements, to be specified.

What You Bring

  • Experience delivering distribution and / or transmission grid connections for generation or demand projects
  • A good understanding of grid connection process, regulations and policy;
  • Experience of working with network companies;
  • Network analysis and understanding of how power systems work;
  • Commercial awareness and an appreciation of Charging
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Valid right to work in the UK certification - we are unable to offer Visa Sponsorship
