We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated GIS Analyst to provide support geographic information analysis and database management for our growing pipeline. The location for this role is flexible across our hubs, with a preference for Brisbane or Sydney.

What You Will Do

  • Create maps and data visualization products using GIS or related software to support renewable energy project development, engineering, and construction;
  • Actively participate in, and contribute to, the technical assessment of renewable energy and storage projects;
  • Assist in the conceptual design of renewable energy and storage projects;
  • Assist in site selection and evaluation of greenfield renewable energy project sites;
  • Interface with project teams to define data needs, project requirements & requested deliverables;
  • Manage & maintain existing project development geodatabases for projects;
  • Create web maps, applications, forms, etc. to be published within a web-based GIS, supporting development and construction operations;
  • Process and store large datasets for use in tools, APIs, and cartographic workflows
  • Create tools and automation processes ;
  • Integrate and analyse data from a variety of sources including DEM and LiDAR data, CAD drawings, web GIS services, and external APIs; and
  • Identify the regulatory requirements (planning, environmental, cultural) that apply to proposed and existing wind farms.

What You Bring

  • Interest in Renewable Energy;
  • Formal qualifications in Surveying, Spatial Sciences, Cartography, Geospatial Information Systems or related degree;
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a GIS Analyst or similar role;
  • Strong knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS);
  • Ability to work in a team environment managing conflicting deadlines and priorities;
  • Ability to work, learn, and problem solve independently;
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining large GIS dataset/databases;
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high quality outputs;
  • Previous experience in coordinating specialist consultants;
  • Knowledge of ArcPy / Model Builder / Python is desirable;
  • Experience in renewable energy projects is desirable;
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office suite; and
  • Willing to travel and capable to travel to sites which will involve walking, and/or, driving off road across site etc.
