About the role

The GIS Analyst will provide GIS support for the development and construction of our UK project pipeline of large-scale renewable projects including solar PV (ground mounted, floating, agri PV), onshore wind, and energy storage. 
 
Based in our Edinburgh office, with some travel to sites and other BayWa offices, the successful candidate will work closely with our GIS, design, development and construction teams. 

What You Will Do

  • Assist with suitability analysis for site identification and assessment, including application of relevant environmental and grid constraints to filter land areas
  • Geospatial data management for a growing number of large projects
  • Preparation of initial solar PV and wind layout designs
  • Configuring ArcGIS data collection apps such as FieldMaps
  • Communication with the wider team to provide relevant mapping support on projects

What You Bring

  • Degree in a related GIS discipline (minimum 2:1)
  • Experience of using ArcGIS Pro to produce figures and analyse geospatial data
  • Knowledge of other GIS applications such as ArcGIS Online and QGIS is favourable
  • Experience of managing large data sets and using geodatabases
  • Familiarity of CAD and a working knowledge of interoperability between GIS and CAD systems would be favourable
  • Experience of large-scale renewable project development would be beneficial
  • Communicative and open personality who enjoys working independently as well as in a team
  • You are in possession of a full clean driving license
