We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region.

About the role

As a part of our global Corporate Strategy, Energy Policy & Sustainability team, you will coordinate and support the overall strategy definition and implementation of the BayWa r.e. group. Your particular focus will be to ensure input from Asia Pacific into global strategy initiatives and carry out implementation in the region in close liaison with the team.

The Corporate Strategy Trainee APAC position will be based in our office in Bangkok, Thailand – Fixed term contract : 6 months


What You Will Do

  • You will report to the Corporate Strategy, Energy Policy & Sustainability Manager APAC and coordinate with the global Corporate Strategy, Energy Policy & Sustainability team across the globe
  • You will research, analyse and present to management with respect to industry trends, competitive landscape, energy policies & market opportunities
  • You will support BayWa r.e.’s strategic projects including market intelligence, country risk checks, and market entry studies for new local markets / business models in collaboration with our local businesses and regional management
  • You will work closely with our local businesses within each country in APAC and with different corporate functions, assisting them in the delivery of corporate strategy and corporate sustainability initiatives in APAC

What You Bring

  • Bachelor-level academic degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, preferably fresh graduates or students in their final year
  • Exposure to corporate strategy, business development or management consulting
  • Fluent English language skills, an additional APAC language skill is a plus
  • Prior experience and/or enthusiasm for the renewables sector is highly desirable
  • Proven analytic skill set, affinity to numbers and experience in developing models in excel
  • Excellent problem-solving, as well as curiosity and a passion for research
  • Proven ability to work well in cross-cultural settings; international experience or background is a plus
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; confident presence with senior management
  • Available for 6 months for 40 hours a week, starting November 2022 / January 2023.
