In the APAC region, we are already around 250 employees located in our 9 country offices throughout the APAC region (Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Australia). We have an established team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals growing our business activities by developing, constructing, and operating our renewable generation portfolio throughout the region. 


As a part of our APAC Corporate Finance team, you will support project sales, project financing, and lead the project sale transactions in Japan as the key area of responsibility. As part of the APAC team, you will also work closely with Corporate Finance team at the head office in Munich. This position will be based in our office in Japan.

What You Will Do

  • Leading the project sale transactions. Responsibility for the whole process including engaging with investors, preparing sales materials, data room and Q&A management, SPA negotiation, managing third party advisers and post completion close out.
  • Leading project financing transactions. Responsibility for the entire process from tendering, managing due diligence (financial, technical, legal and insurance) and third-party advisers, negotiating the financing documentation through to FC and post-closing activities.
  • Ongoing relationship management with domestic and international investors, banks, security houses and consultants (both new and existing investors in Japan and wider APAC market).
  • Commercial support of the project teams from acquisition, implementation and through to project sales. For example, financial evaluation, structuring in terms of debt, equity and tax aspects, investment committee documentation preparation and contract negotiation.
  • Financial modelling and project valuations, including assessing funding and equity cases.
  • Determination of innovative structuring and financing forms.
  • Part of the APAC team and will also work close with Corporate Finance team in Munich, the head office.

What You Bring

  • Degree in relevant field such as business administration, economics, banking or industrial engineering are preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years of transaction oriented professional experience, including project financing and/or M&A.
  • Professional knowledge and ability to understand the complexity of project business, ideally in the renewable energy field.
  • Competence in conducting negotiations with outstanding communication skills.
  • Relationship focused and able to work in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent applied Excel skills and competent financial modeler.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese, both written and spoken.
  • Multi-tasking and able to work in a small dynamic team setting.
  • Hands-on and able to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a structured and solution-oriented way.
