About the role
The Compliance Manager APAC ensures that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal policies and we operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting our business objectives. The position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.

What You Will Do

  • You implement and further develop BayWa r.e.´s group-wide, preventive compliance management system with a focus on anti-corruption, antitrust law and anti-money laundering
  • You communicate regulatory requirements in an understandable way to guarantee that the management and internal staff recognizes the relevance of the mentioned compliance topics
  • You develop and deliver online and face-to-face compliance trainings and advise employees and the management on the compliance topics
  • You conduct business partner screenings and compliance due diligence
  • You cooperate with functional teams and managers to ensure effective implementation of the compliance management system
  • Drafting and revising compliance policies and procedures
  • Proactively auditing processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses.
  • Evaluating business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk
  • Advising the company on compliance risks associated with emerging business strategies and new business models to provide pragmatic options for risk mitigation and management
  • Collaborating with internal and external auditors as well as HR when needed
  • Setting plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation
  • D&O Insurance management for directors of the company
  • Serving as a liaison with Corporate Compliance team on policies and compliance issues

What You Bring

  • BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager
  • Experience in risk management
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, with relevant experience in anti-corruption, antitrust and anti-money laundering
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
  • Excellent communication in English
  • Experience developing compliance frameworks while leveraging technology Experience in working in international corporate environments and intercultural sensitivity
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, organizational and time management skills
  • Business acumen
  • Teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is a plus
