Community & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator

BayWa r.e. Projects Australia provides an extensive range of services from project development and implementation, to finance and the operation of large-scale solar and wind farms in Australia. Our experienced team, comprised of local and international staff, is there to take care of your project every step of the way.

About the role
This role will help support BayWa r.e.’s social licence to develop and operate renewable energy projects in Australia. It will work with the Community Engagement Manager and Project Development staff to plan and undertake community engagement and other support activities. You will also be travelling up to once per month to regional Australia. This role has the flexibility to be part time as well, so do not hesitate.
 

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:
 
  • Support the implementation of community engagement strategies for wind, solar and battery projects in Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
  • Organise and lead community engagement activities such as open days, meetings, and workshops.
  • Provide support to project development teams to ensure effective communication and integrate community feedback into project plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, landowners, First Nations community groups and environmental groups.
  • Prepare written collateral to support the project, including newsletters, website content, reports and other correspondence. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities for community benefit sharing programs.
  • Prepare clear and concise communication materials to inform stakeholders about project details and benefits.
Represent the company at industry events and forums related to community engagement.

What You Bring

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in community engagement and stakeholder relations.
  • Proven experience in implementing and evaluating community engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy transition in Australia.
  • Experience working in regional Australia (preferred).
Valid Australian driver's license and willingness to travel regionally (essential).
