About the role

Due to our dynamic growth, we are currently looking for a Commercial Asset Manager (m/f/d) who will be responsible for managing strategic commercial aspects of the IPP assets portfolio. The Commercial Asset Manager will report to the assigned Line Manager within the Business Entity IPP (= Independent Power Producer: building and managing a portfolio of our own-built onshore wind and solar PV assets). This role includes various responsibilities, such as the identification and recommendation of asset optimization strategies to enhance the commercial performance of assigned assets, along with the management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This position will be ideally located at our headquarters in Munich.

What You Will Do

  • You will critically review and challenge the commercial performance of IPP assets.
  • You will support monthly asset management reporting and annual budget planning.
  • You will engage with colleagues to understand and evaluate asset risks and opportunities.
  • You will manage financial performance tracking of assets against budget and other KPIs.
  • You will take ownership of specific areas of business development work streams and support the wider team in achieving our goals, specifically:
          - IPP portfolio offtake contracts;
          - Market knowledge regarding offtake regimes and energy prices in IPP countries; 
          - Portfolio Insurance; 
          - Ad-hoc analyses and research in various relevant markets.
  • You will support the integration of the IPP assets into the Risk Management system from a commercial perspective.
  • You will participate in a pool of experts from different Business Units to interact and exchange about current and planned activities, best practices, cross-functional analyses.
  • You will contribute to enhancing best practice methods, valuation processes, knowledge management, internal tools & templates.
  • You will strategically manage relevant contracts on asset portfolio level, including execution of tenders and negotiation.
  • You will develop, implement, and monitor a contract management concept for IPP assets.
  • You will develop a commercial assets management handbook for IPP, establishing guidelines for main assets contracts.

Your Profile

  • Relevant degree in the technical, engineering, or business area.
  • At least 5 years' professional experience in asset/contract management or similar activities.
  • Solid professional experience in project management, asset management, and operations management in renewable energy projects.
  • Sound commercial understanding, including Controlling, Budgeting, OPEX structure, and P&L analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of operational business activities.
  • Experience in enterprise valuation, cash flow-based financial models, and/or investment appraisal.
  • Creative and pragmatic with an ability to find solutions to challenging problems.
  • Ability to translate analysis into practical and implementable recommendations.
  • Excellent English and good German communication skills, both written and spoken; with a flexible attitude and proactive approach.
