BayWa r.e. APAC offers fascinating roles with great prospects in the fields of wind power, solar energy, bio-energy and small hydro. Our business activities include trading, project development and realization, consultancy services and technical/commercial operations management. We have positions at our locations in Thailand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia Malaysia and in the Philippines.

Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Malaysia and are currently looking for a C&I Business Development Executive – Malaysia:


  • Utilise own network and develop a company network in Malaysia to source, evaluate and negotiate C&I Solar PV rooftop projects.

  • Develop relationships with local developers, EPC companies, consultants to accelerate sourcing pipeline of project.

  • Manage key client accounts in Malaysia – Prepare and present proposals to clients.

  • Initial assessment of new project opportunities, working with local management and support functions, including engineering on technical and commercial appraisals.

  • Standardize and negotiate Lease/Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and EPC contracts.

  • Establish partnerships and JV with developers, EPC companies, Real Estate companies or any other company that could accelerate sourcing pipeline of C&I projects.

  • Perform prework and internal justifications leading to internal approvals for project execution & investment

  • Develop best practices and tools for sourcing and evaluating projects.


  • BSc in Engineering, Business or Economics is required; a Master’s degree is an advantage.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in solar PV development or projects.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to highlight key benefits & persuasive presentations.

  • Understanding of energy systems and technology

  • Understanding of the solar regulation and NEM policy in Malaysia including the permitting process of greenfield projects until COD.

  • Has a network of contacts in Multinational, large local companies and government agencies.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong ability to explain complex technical topics and systems.

  • Proven ability to work and excel in a fast-paced environment and to perform multiple roles and functions simultaneously.
