Business Promoter and Developer - Northern Spain

BayWa r.e. Projects España S.L.U. – a wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e. AG – is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal. Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team and are currently looking for support with our Business Promotion and Development in Northern Spain.

What You Will Do

  • Originate PV Projects opportunities in Northern Spain with a focus on greenfield development.
  • Liaise with land brokers and/or landowners and negotiate land agreements.
  • Analyse available points for connection, STE´s and grid capacity opportunities, in order to apply for new connection points.
  • Drive development & permitting process of projects to ensure a timely RTB-status.
  • Manage relationship with external stakeholders (e.g. municipalities, DNO, TSO, regional bodies, landowners).
  • Regular internal reporting on project timing, risks and costs considering established processes and standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, e.g. legal, engineering…

What You Bring

  • At least 2 years of experience in greenfield development of renewable energy projects (PV or Wind) in Spain.
  • Essential to be based in Northern Spain (e.g., Cantabria, Vasque Country, Asturias, Galicia…) with availability to travel.
  • Essential to be familiar with analysing substations, according to the monthly reports from the DNO/TSOs and request Access and Connection points to the grid.
  • Deep knowledge of site-securing, interconnection and permitting processes of renewable projects in Spain.
  • Desirable good command of Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Desirable good understanding of financial modelling, experience with PPAs is a plus.
  • Experience working with external advisers (e.g., environmental companies, archaeologists…)
  • Ability to work autonomously, and mostly remote.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Native in Spanish, fluent in English.
