BayWa r.e. Solar Systems SLU is a leading PV wholesale business, responsible for Spain and Portugal. Internationally, BayWa r.e.’s PV wholesale business operates in Europe, North and Central America as well as the APAC region. In the Iberian market, we carry a wide range of high-quality products in our portfolio, have strategic global framework agreements with most leading brands and have a proprietary mounting system (novotegra) and design tool solution (Solar Planit).

Due to our dynamic growth, we are currently looking for a Business Developer in Portugal:

What You Will Do

  • You are responsible for the development of a regional network of installers and planners specialised in self-consumption (residential and industrial).
  •  You are responsible for the bidding process and commercial negotiation for projects.
  • You are a point of contact and technical support for customers and the rest of the commercial team. Especially for investors.
  • You identify new business partners or multipliers to grow out of the existing business.
  • You directly educate management and marketing about the peculiarities of the market in your territory and the opportunities and services derived from them.
  • You contribute to the definition of product and procurement strategy as a key part of the new business development team.
  • You work closely with the operations team/key account managers handing over control of established accounts and focusing on the development of new opportunities.

What You Bring

  • University studies preferably in the field of engineering, business or economics.
  •  At least 2 years of experience in the field of photovoltaic solar energy with a high technical component.
  • You have an extensive network of contacts in the field of solar energy, project development, construction and/or electricity trading companies.
  • You are a good communicator with a high level of autonomy and self-initiative.
  • You are passionate about renewable energies and are motivated by the idea of being part of a young and growing team.
  • You come from the technical or commercial service field and want to broaden your professional horizons additionally in the other field.
  • You have a good command of MS-Office applications and know ERP or CRM applications such as SAP/Netsuite and/or Salesforce.
  • You have a good level of spoken and written English.
