About the role
Business Developer Energy Storage will drive the business development and growth of Battery Energy Storage Projects in the Australian market. You will work under the advisory of our Business Development Manager Projects APAC.
The position will be based in our Sidney Office, Australia.

About the role
Business Developer Energy Storage will drive the business development and growth of Battery Energy Storage Projects in the Australian market. You will work under the advisory of our Business Development Manager Projects APAC.
The position will be based in our Sidney Office, Australia.
What You Will Do
- Together with our legal entities you drive the setting up and expansion of our Battery Storage (BESS) businesses in Australia and you support in the structuring and market positioning strategy of the business (stand-alone & hybrid projects), with the main target of creating significant project pipelines.
- Supporting the local teams – from project origination until project sales – on all business-related aspects such as development, modelling and evaluating of business cases, financing & sales negotiations, as well as in managing regulation variation.
- Gathering market intelligence and monitoring competition, industry and regulatory trends that could have an impact on the pipeline strategy and/or project valuation in the country.
- Supporting the BESS Project Analysts in economic assessment of projects (including DD and commercial negotiations), supporting the Project Team to secure internal approvals and support in M&A process.
- Empowering our colleagues through workshops and trainings regarding BESS market know-how and delivering capacity building on technologies.
- Orchestrating engineers, RnD, procurement and other functional roles within the BESS company environment.
- Building the bridge between Australia Legal Entities and BESS expert team on corporate level.
What You Bring
- Academic degree preferably in an economic or engineering discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Renewable Energy, Battery Storage, Energy Markets). Other degrees are valued if experience matches the profile le requirements.
- Minimum 1-3 years direct working experience in the energy storage or relevant business field in the energy sector in general (e.g., project development, energy trading, EPC, utility, grid operator).
- Experience with Australian energy market designs and regulations. Experience in APAC markets is a plus.
- Understanding of BESS technologies, applications, business models and operational strategies.
- Experience in renewable energy and/or BESS project development and management is a plus.
- Analytical and structured way of thinking and working with strong communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial and positive attitude with strong passion for the relevant business field.
- Experience in working with external advisers and international teams.
- Fluency in English.
