Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Sacramento and are currently looking for an Accounting Manager:

Your tasks

  • Assist in overseeing the Accounting Department operations, which include general ledger, financial closing, tax planning, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Assist in overseeing workload of accounting staff and identify training needs accordingly.
  • Develop a strong foundation of all company accounting processes by performing many complex clerical and accounting activities -
  • - Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records.
  • - Sort, code and enter accounts payable data, and analyzes discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
  • - Set up new clients and vendors following established policy and procedures.
  • - Compile and enter all receipt, client invoices, and account information.
  • - Process outgoing checks and invoices based on company criteria.
  • - Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations and activities.
  • - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Work closely with project management team to process purchase orders, account for inventory and ensure accurate relief of inventory to projects.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Assist in the production of periodic financial reports and ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
  • Assist in producing the annual budget and forecasts and report significant budget differences to management.
  • Maintain and monitor customer and vendor accounts for errors, verify accuracy and reconcile differences through follow-up with customers, vendors and/or other employees.
  • Administer client contracts and ensures timely billing including issuance of preliminary notices, preparation and tracking of releases, and preparation of other documentation as required.
  • Maintain accurate job cost information working closely with project managers on job cost analysis and reporting and identify issues or discrepancies.
  • Participate, as directed, in management of external relationships including accounting firms, bank relationships, insurance brokers and bonding agents.
  • Recommend benchmarks to measure the company’s performance.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related degree required.
  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience in accounting management, preferably in construction or renewable industry.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Multi-state accounting experience, State of California and Hawaii is a plus.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software, experience with Foundation is a plus.
  • Proficient with tax and other state and federal filings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
